The sound of silence

“How much it means that I say this to you…”

Your words were to me as perfume was to you.
Your words were to me as fashion was to you.
Your words were to me as my body was to you.
Your words were to me as hunger was to you.

“So is the time that keeps you as my chest,
Or as the wardrobe which the robe doth hide…”

Ahhh…your words!

I can still smell ’em, wear ’em, feel ’em, hunger for them.

Who, when I’m gone, will look at this photo
and hear what they cannot see?
